CertainTeed Corp of Valley Forge, PA, has purchased both the commercial and residential roofing lines of Irving, TX-based GS Roofing Products Co for an undisclosed amount. The deal spurs CertainTeed's entry into the US' three biggest roofing markets, Texas, California and Florida, making the firm a national supplier of residential roofing items by boosting its proximity to markets in the West and South.

BASF acquires IPI's polyurethane business

BASF has aquired the polyurethane systems business of IPI International. BASF said the acquisition will strengthen their competitiveness and improve its position in the North American spray foam market. IPI International is a global supplier of blended polyurethane systems used mostly for insulation. Polyurethane systems are an important part of BASF's Polymers Division product porfolio.
