The manufactured home industry must adopt skillful strategies to improve their place in the American housing market. Serious and voluntary standard of ethics must be the major focus of manufacturers to conduct a good business. Traits to follow include honesty and fairness in all transactions, honoring warranties and commitments, obeying antitrust guidelines and applicable federal, state and local laws and improving the industry's public image.

Tornadoes draw focus to MH storm safety

Article Abstract:

The devastating tornadoes that ravaged the South in February 1998 attracted attention on the manufactured housing industry. The tornado damage in Florida brought both negative and positive media coverage on manufactured housing. One report, for instance, cited that manufactured homes with new wind standards, built in 1994 after Hurricane Andrew, survived. Another news, however, showed the damages that tornadoes can bring to manufactured homes.
