Dock squeeze angers ICW homeowners

Article Abstract:

Dock owners along parts of Florida's Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) are up in arms over a proposal by the US Army Corps of Engineers to move their docks back from the channel to alleviate pleasure-boat congestion and decrease dredging costs. The proposal would affect docks built on Florida's east coast ICW from Jacksonville to Miami, the Okeechobee Waterway and the Gulf ICW from St Marks to Tampa Bay. Florida Inland Navigation District Asst Dir David Roach said safe navigation is a reason for the proposal.
