EC moves to cut Internet access costs

Article Abstract:

The European Commission has recommended a considerable reduction in Internet access costs by requiring member states to provide "full unbundled" access to local telephone loops by Dec 31. Lukanen said the "last mile" was the most important to a user's home telephone was the major obstacle which currently prevents easy and affordable access to the Internet 24 hrs a day.
