EC pushes to finalize safe harbor by June

Article Abstract:

The EU and US have concluded a 'safe harbor' agreement that will allow the unhamperd flow of data across the Atlantic. US companies that comply with the 'safe harbor' rules are deemed to offer the 'adequate' protection the EU's data protection directive requires. The commission is in the process of seeking approval for the agreement from a majority of EU member countries that comprise the Article 29 and 31 committees. The agreement would then be submitted to the European Parliament for further approval.
