Article Abstract:

Part of the National Health Service hospital in Dorset, UK, has been transformed from a depressing, unsightly facility into a comfortable and attractive one. Poole Hospital has undergone a 6.5 million pounds sterling refurbishment project designed to enhance patient care. It has sixteen single-patient areas with private bathroom facilities and over twice its original circulation space of 14.6 square meters for each bed.

The architectural practice of Troughton McAslan was founded in 1981 by Jamie Troughton. In 1996, the company is to be re-organised and will change its name to John McAslan and Partners. Troughton is to become part-time chairman taking charge of finance and business strategy, but will not be involved in management of projects.
