Gastronomic delight

Article Abstract:

The staff restaurant at British Gas PLC's London, England headquarters has bee refurbished by architect, Seymour Harris Partnership. The 1000 sq meter restaurant contains three dining rooms with new kitchens and a coffee lounge. The architect used specially designed serveries to improve customer throughput and reduce queuing while natural colours and materials make the restaurant an inviting and comfortable area. The refurbishment cost a total of 1.2 million pounds sterling and was completed in seven months.

Article Abstract:

Successful use of one-off metalwork designs requires close co-operation between the specifyer and the producer. Some bespoke metalwork is made by shopfitting firms which have taken on additional skills but long term contact between designer and producer enables both to benefit from eachother's skills and ideas. Designer, Ron Herron worked closely with metalwork company, Sheetfab to produce the walkway used in the London Natural History Museum's dinosaurs exhibition.
