One for all

Article Abstract:

The architectural firm of Pringle Brandon became its own customer and project manager when it decided to remodel an old warehouse in London, England for its new offices. Budgets have gone up and deadlines have slipped as extra attention to detail was given to the design process, but the firm hope to move in in March 1997, 11 months after purchase. The conversion cost will be 45 pounds sterling per square foot. The main feature will be the entrance area. The front section of the ground-floor slab has been taken away and the reception area is reached via a metal footbridge.

Dome discoveries

Article Abstract:

UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will unveil scale models and drawings of planned exhibitions in the Millennium Dome in Feb 1998. The Dome will be divided into zones, each with a central theme, such as the body zone and rest zone. Up to 11 design firms were appointed by the New Millennium Experience Company (NMEC) in Dec 1997, each assigned to a different zone. Designers working on the spirit zone have had to take a sensitive approach, and create work acceptable to all denominations. The Millennium Dome is expected to cost 780 million pound sterling.
