Flycast dominates local online ad channel as it signs up US West

Article Abstract:

US West Inc of Englewood, CO, has signed a three-year agreement with Interent ad firm Flycast Communications Corp. The deal allows business customers of US West to place online ads that appear only in their communities. US West, thus, became the third regional Bell operating company to hook up with Flycast. The key to Flycast's service is a software that determines the location of a Web user's computer.

New Flycast Division goes after novice Web marketers

The company aims to provide its clients with a virtual ad network where they can test parts of their real-world marketing campaigns. Among its clients are DraftWorldwide, FCB Direct, Fusion DM and Direct Resources Group.

Fort Lauderdale, FL-based Fat Traffic Inc plans to introduce a new technology in Nov 1999 that allows e-commerce sites to move at the top of the results returned by search engines. An e-commerce could go to Fat Traffic and reserve keywords that best identify its business. The company charges a fixed rate of $49 per month for each term or phrase that a client wants to reserve.
