For better and for Birse

Article Abstract:

Steve French, the culture director at Birse in Humberside, England, has worked on changing the culture of the company since 1994, and believes that the company can benefit enormously from this process. Birse suffered from a bad reputation in the industry during 1994, which was discovered after subcontractors, clients and suppliers completed a survey. Birse currently asks their clients to report on their performance on a quarterly basis and utilises a Five-Dimensional Management contract to improve its performance.

Top QS forges Far East link

Article Abstract:

Leading U.K. quantity surveyor Gardiner and Theobald is talking about a possible link with Hong Kong's Levett and Bailey. The alliance could result in both companies taking equity stakes in each other. It is hoped that the link would benefit both firms and give them a stronger presence in markets where they are currently underrepresented.
