Forth Valley community care village

Article Abstract:

Forth Valley community care village was designed by Sir Norman Foster & Partners for Central Scotland Healthcare. It is to be used as a halfway house for patients recovering from mental illness. The building is designed as a crescent of identical six bedroom houses, which surround the village green style garden. The houses are open plan with high vaulted ceilings and top ventilated light. Natural materials were used such as stone and wood and standard products such as windows were selected from a catalogue, but installed in an unusual way to provide a glazed facade.

Brazilian ISP raises $12 million at home

Article Abstract:

Super 11, a free-service Internet service provider in Brazil, has received a total of $12 million from private investors and Internet companies, which will sustain its operations until the end of 2000. The new investment will dilute the holdings of the company's executives to 51% but would still have majority control. Super 11 would use the money to expand within Latin America, make its entry into the B2B market and launch two new portals.
