Article Abstract:

ROC Communities Inc. is North America's largest manufactured housing community company. In a recent conference, ROC executives Gary McDaniel, Jim Grange and Mac McClanahan forecast continued but limited growth in new communities. Furthermore, they predict that regulatory barriers will serve to limit the opportunities of manufactured housing. The ROC executives concluded that modernization is necessary for housing manufacturers to compete in an increasingly crowded market.

Grading communities with rating chart

Article Abstract:

Manufactured housing communities can be be graded using the ABCD Real Estate Asset Property Rating Chart. The method is based on four property factors including location, curb appeal, infrastructure, and homesite density. The scale uses a four step grading system from A to D or from five, four, three, and one star ratings. Specific factors for consideration also include the existence of cable TV facilities, security, aesthetics, and fire hydrants.
