IBM, PeopleSoft ally on CRM colution

Article Abstract:

IBM, based in Somers, NY, and PeopleSoft Inc, based in Pleasanton, CA, announced a strategic partnership to provide an integrated, Web-based customer relationship management solution operating on IBM's DB2 Universal Database for the IBM S/390 server. To provide customers access to a pure e-business CRM application, the two firms will combine their databases, servers, software and services for a solution. The CRM solution is designed to be scalable, reliable and can manage costumers' data across the enterprise.

Dell lets colleges design back-to-school mailers

Article Abstract:

Dell Computer has launched the DellResourceCenter.com that will allow schools to create and execute their own direct mail and e-mail campaigns. The computer company has beta-tested the site with the University of Pennsylvania and Duke, which were pleased with the sites customization features. Schools that want help with their marketing campaings can register with the site. They can pay for the marketing materials with credits earned from making purchases of Dell products.

Multimedia mall kiosks grab data from gen x, y

Article Abstract:

Screenzone of South Orange, NJ, will launch a national network of digital, interactive multimedia displays in shopping mails. The kiosks will be used to build a national database of 15- to 26-year olds for entertainment- related companies. The 10-by-15 screenzone units will play and promote movies, music and other entertainment-related content. Users are asked to enter demographic data such as name, address, e-mail, age, gender, income and education.
