Pat Pinnington has been involved in the door and window industry for over 40 years and has been an independent consultant since 1981. He has installed a System Ruschoff test rig at his Norfolk home, which allows him to advise cliients on whether their products will meet British Standards. He has also produced designs for several system producers and is technical officer for the Council for Aluminium in Building.

The current networking boom is being driven by companies connecting computers based at differed sites, and the Internet is favoured as it is an open system.
