Loyalty RealTime buys Data Central, wants POS lead

Relationship marketing firm loyalty RealTime LLC has acquired Data Central USA Inc. The acquisition is expected to boost RealTime's foray into the small and midsized business segment. Data Central uses point-of-sale (POS) to award customers when they make transactions at restaurants, hospitality and retail industries. Real Time, division of Cincinatti-based Frequency Marketing Inc, offers real-time loyalty rewards using POS, Web and satellite technology.

Online sweeps creations get speedier

Flashbase.com has released its customizable sweepstakes tool that allows firms to create an entire customized sweepstakes having back-end data collection and mining tools in only 20 min. The new tool is in line with the company's objective of providing a complete solution to mine data, to create opt-in e-mail lists and create sweepstakes. Company officers saw the users' need to run sweepstakes using Flashbase and the perfect fit between sweepstakes and data collection.

The concept invovles a combination of a viral spoof of the hit song 'Mambo No. 5' and a cartoon of chefs in an Asian restaurant. The viral cartoon has increased the monthly hits of the company's Web site, 4Dmarketing.com, for 100 to 10,000.
