Direct marketing information and data solutions firm MarketsOnDemand has started offering Consumer Interest Specialty Lists. The 10 new files consist of self-reported consumer interest data collected through CoreBase, the Chicago, IL, firm's database of Internet-derived opt-in data. The files are book buyers and readers: cooking enthusiasts; health and fitness buffs; home decor and improvement prospects; investing and finance; music lovers; pet people; sports enthusiasts; travel enthusiasts; and wired consumers.

Alternative markets boost revenues

Article Abstract:

List management companies in 2000 confront the challenge of having to increase list rental income while satisfying list owners' needs to exchange in traditional and fringe markets. List managers must become more creative in boosting list rental incomes because exchanges are becoming increasingly commonplace and mailers are using an increasing number of co- op and database products to supplement mail plans. Exploring alternative markets may be an effective way by these list managers may boost list rental income.

ALC debuts transactional Web site

Article Abstract:

The American List Counsel (ALC) has launched the ALClists.com, a transactional Web site that marketers can use to run counts and download list data directly to their computers. The system is aimed at two different marketing channels: the small end-user and the reseller. The site contains compiled databases of more than 15 million Dun and Bradstreet business names and more than 81 million Equifax consumer names.
