NCR establishes privacy initiatives

Article Abstract:

NCR Corp. has developed a series of data warehousing privacy systems to help its customers comply with consumer data protection regulations in the United States, Europe and other countries. The privacy-enabling services, to be used with Teradata Data Warehouse, will allow companies to incorporate security objectives into their IT systems and customer relationship plans and formulate definite steps to carry them out. NCR vice president of privacy, Bob Henderson stated that the data warehousing privacy systems are intended to give companies a competitive edge.

Web-based version of ThinkDirectMail debuts

ThinkDirectMarketing.com Inc in Jan 2001 launched a new version of its direct marketing list generation product ThinkDirectMail. ThinkDirectMail v2.0 now includes expanded searches and an intuitive, Web-based interface, providing small and mid-sized businesses with the ability to instantly select and download highly targeted new customer prospects. Version 2.0 also offers geographic and demographic radius search capabilities. The demographic subscription is priced $395 per year for as many as 20,000 prospects.
