OMC gets bailout, but clock is running

Article Abstract:

Outboard Marine Corp (OMC) has received a $45 million investment from Soros Private Equity Partners, giving the struggling engine and boat manufacturer the necessary momentum to win back its lost market share. Chris Michalik, a partner at Soros, said the capital infusion is proof of his company's faith on the long-term future of OMC. However, the bailout did not stop Moody's and Standard and Poor's from downgrading OMC's debt, which OMC said will have no impact on its operations.
