Outlaw cowboys says homeowners

Article Abstract:

A study looking into the attitudes of UK homeowners to builders found 67% of participants wanted the introduction of a national registration scheme for builders to be mandatory. Some 96% of respondents supported the setting up of an ombudsman service for the construction industry. For 89% of respondents the law should be used to stop unqualified builders from undertaking any construction work. Some 400 homeowners took part in the study which comprised of a telephone poll, in May 1999.

Article Abstract:

There are many different parts of the world which could prove attractive to UK construction professionals planning to work abroad. In the Caribbean, for example, it is possible to travel quickly to very attractive leisure resorts, while expatriates working in Africa are likely to be able to employ a number of servants. Russia is regarded as offering a good standard of living and interesting nightlife, while the lifestyle in South America can also be attractive.

Article Abstract:

The Millennium Commission is responsible for assessing grant applications for projects designed to celebrate the millenium. It will receive funds of around 150 million pounds sterling from the National Lottery in 1995, and will approve the first round of schemes in summer 1995. Its members are particularly looking for original ideas, but most of the budget will go to major capital projects.
