Okoboji, IA-based Parks Marina has acquierd Okoboji boats, which it calls the oldest boat works in the Iowa Great Lakes region. The purchase will allow Parks to add Bayliner, Malibu and Cobalt boats to its existing line. Its lineup includes Fountain, Formula, Chris-Craft, Crownline, godfrey, Crestliner, Rinker, Scout and Century, in addition to Yamaha and Mercury outboards. Parks Marina plans to move the sales, service and accounting departments of Okoboji Boats into its own facility.

Hovercraft Concepts has purchased Hovercraft America, which produces rescue hovercraft and the former's main competitor. William Flett, president of Hovercraft Concepts, said the acquisition allows the company to have a presence in the recreational and rescue hovercraft markets. It manufactures two- four- and five-person recreational hovercraft as well as 12- and 22-person transport hovercraft. The buyout also makes Hovercraft Concepts the largest hovercraft producer in the world.
