Article Abstract:

Innovative construction industry firms are tackling the issue of selling products and services on the Internet, although the industry as a whole has yet to fully embrace the new technology. Paper-based information is the traditional method used to transfer documentation within the industry, although the numbers of large firms investing in Internet technology is expected to filter down to smaller and medium sized firms. Construction firms are advised to establish a dedicated web site to ensure they can take part in the electronic revolution.

The right time, the right placing

Article Abstract:

UK housebuilders are having to consider the benefits of floating on the stock market, against the background of falling share prices and reduced profits caused by the fluctuation in the housing market. Floatation of Morris Homes in Dec 1997 was abandoned after shareholders discovered they would lose money because of falling equity values. The average share price of housebuilders fell by between 15-20% from Sept-Dec 1997. Companies need to assess the right time for floatations to gain maximum profit and share price.
