Article Abstract:

Ecomerchant Owner Joe Hilton anticipates it will take two-three years before his new company is profitable. Hilton has opened a building merchants which is based on good environmental practice, such as selling local traditionally made products and reclaiming secondhand materials. Hilton will sell mainly from a catalogue initially and increase the stock as consumer demand grows. He has had support from his family and the Princes's Youth Business Trust. Hilton previously worked as a building surveyor for Baily Garner before the launch of his new business, based in Kent, England, during August 1998.

Networking is an important way to develop career progression within the UK construction industry. Many clubs have been set up to meet the needs of networking in specific areas of expertise. The Third Thursday Club is held at a public house in Leeds, where people meet to discuss events in the world of construction and networking. The Exeter Boat Club is held in Devon and holds regular meetings for the purposes of networking and enjoyment.

Article Abstract:

A protest group has set up camp in a woodland site close to the path of the proposed M77 motorway extension in Scotland. The protesters beieve that valuable green belt land including 300 year old trees will be destroyed, and the amount of vehicles travelling on the route will lead to increased carbon dioxide and exhaust emissions.
