Time forms direct subsidiary to boost mag circulations

Article Abstract:

Time Consumer Marketing has created an independent subsidiary that will offer partnership marketing programs to Time Inc's publications as well as other periodicals. The subsidiary, named Time Direct Ventures, has forged an agreement with Home Shopping Network, with other partners lined up for the subsidiary. Under the agreement, the television customers of the Home Shopping Network can subscribe to Time Inc's magazines, which include Life, People, Time and Sports Illustrated, among others.

Hello Direct brings in Cygnion insert

Hello Direct Inc, a San Jose, CA-based direct marketer of telephones and related equipment, has mailed 500,000 copies of its summer catalog in Feb 2000 with an advertising insert from Brea, CA-based Cygnion Corp. The four-page insert promotes the Cygnion's new PC wireless telephone called CyberGenie. The product will also appear in Hello direct's Web site, www.hellodirect.com.

Hearst signs deal to boost circulation

Article Abstract:

New York-based Hearst Publications-Hearst Business Group signed a subscription partnership publishing program with catalog directory publisher Greenwood Village, CT-based Belcaro Group. Under the deal, Belcaro's catalog directories such as SportFolio, HomeFair, HomeSpaces, Shot At Home will be used to sell subscriptions to such Hearst magazines as Town & Country, Sports Afield, Popular Mechanics, Harper's Bazaar, Gardener and Esquire.
