Verizon Wireless

Article Abstract:

Verizon Wireless will open a $42-million customer call center in West Valley, UT, as part of a $100-million reorganization of its call center operations. The call center will have a workforce of 1,000 people and will serve the company's customers in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The facility will have more than 800 workstations and 200 training stations. Verizon Wireless will also relocate its call center in Greenville, SC, to Mauldin, SC.

Article Abstract:

Nextel Partners Inc of Kirkland, WA, has announced that it is building a call center in Panama City Beach, FL. The 65,000-square-foot center, which is scheduled for completion in 1st qtr 2002, is expected to employ 600 people and pump an estimated $10 million annually in the local economy. The company said that it needed this new customer-care facility to keep up with the demands of subscriber growth.

Verizon Wireless

Article Abstract:

Verizon Wireless of Bedmibnster, NJ, has increased the work force of its Laurel, MD, call center in Apr 2001 to keep pace with customer demands. The company hired an additional of 160 employees. Verizon Wireless disclosed that it is planning to make unspecified further additions to the center's customer service work force by the end of 2001. Further expansions are planned for 2002 and 2003.
