Convergent shopping format targets high-end customers

Article Abstract:

UShopTV, a television home shopping and Internet concept solely marketing products from e-commerce sites, is debuting on the Product Information Network on Jun 28, 2000. The home shopping format targets upper middle- class baby boomers who can afford the purchase of products whose prices average at $200. Initially, a week's worth of prerecorded programs will be made available to potential customers through an archived Webcast on uShopTV.com.

I-TV test hardly a 'SmackDown' for UPN affiliate

Article Abstract:

RespondTV, an interactive television company, and Chris-Craft Industries Inc, have added another interactive television initiative to their nine- month partership. The new effort is an enhancement that will appear during the World Wrestling Federation's 'SmackDown' program aired on KBHK in San Francisco, CA, a UPN affililiate of Chris-Craft. It is intended to strengthen RespondTV's t-commerce applications rather than to make a profit. The product being marketed is a 'No Wuss TV' T-shirt that features the station's logo.

Wink serves U.S. Open fans a chance to interact with programming

Article Abstract:

Alameda, CA-based Wink Communications made it possible for viewers of the 2000 US Open tennis tournament to interact with live programming and commercials during the television coverage of the games on USA Networks. Through Wink-enabled systems, fans were able to access on-screen information about any match and advertised products without interruption to their viewing of live matches.
