Aliens law draws academic fire

Article Abstract:

The Aliens Law introduced in Germany in 1993 has been condemned by higher education academics and students within the country as being discriminatory and racist. The law has practically eliminated the right of sanctuary, according to the 'Marburg Declaration' produced by students and education officials at a congress at Marburg University. German universities are being urged to check xenophobia, discrimination and racism, with such incidents apparently on the increase.
