Cry for help from tutor 'counsellors'

Article Abstract:

The requirement of personal and emotional support from academicians increases with an increase in the number of students from a broader range of socioeconomic backgrounds. The inability of tutors to provide such help to the students due to the pressure of workload is tackled by many universities by dividing the job between academic tutors and personal tutors responsible for pastoral care.

Fighting student plagiarism

City University has launched its inaugural Plagiarism Awareness Week which offers workshops for students and staff on topics from plagiarism-proofing assessments to updates on the latest in plagiarism-detection software. The week aims to raise awareness of one of the most complex and serious issues facing higher education.
