Dino soars in the farmyard

Article Abstract:

Work on a forthcoming television program, 'Walking with Dinosaurs' has led to some new discoveries on how dinosaurs may have moved. The new discoveries have helped to support the idea birds are the descendants of the dinosaurs. The use of other new technology has helped paleontologists, such as CT scanners which allow them to give a much fuller examination of dinosaur skulls. Dinosaurs were first popularised by Scientist Professor Richard Owen and Sculptor Benjamin Waterhouse who made a display of very large dinosaur models for the Great Exhibition in London, England, during 1854.

What's so special about figs?

Article Abstract:

It has been established that figs have significantly higher calcium levels than other fruits. This may explain why fruit-eating animals often prefer to eat figs even when large quantities of other foods are available. It has not been possible to establish the biological availability of calcium in figs, but animals eating a diet rich in figs will probably not suffer from calcium deficiency. It is possible that figs act as a keystone plant resource for many animal species.
