Inclusion as social justice: Critical notes on discourses, assumptions, and the road ahead

Article Abstract:

The idea of inclusion as social justice and the disparate meanings of social justice that permeate the inclusive education literature are described. It is suggested that conceptual clarity will strengthen ongoing reform efforts and help educators understand better the intersection of inclusion and social justice in educational systems that serve culturally and linguistically diverse students.

Using technology in Reggio Emilia-inspired programs

Article Abstract:

Technology can be used to support the learning needs of young children in early childhood programs inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy. Assistive technology devices for children with special needs, and technological devices that help in documentation, assessment, communication and training for educators and family members are described.

Promoting research-based practices through inclusion?

Article Abstract:

The article examines the school reforms of research-based practices and co-teaching of special and general educators. The research base is not seen as best practice and there is need for development in co-taught classrooms.
