Labs can throw a lifeline to our struggling nations

Article Abstract:

The president of the Royal Society argues that the spread of disease is one of the great threats facing the world and that Tony Blair in his role as head of the UK's presidency of the G8 group of nations and the European Council of Ministers needs to make the creation of scientists throughout the developing world a priority. It is contended that the UK should help and support African countries in their efforts to develop successive generations of scientists who could tackle their indigenous problems.
