Still finding small wonders right under his nose

Article Abstract:

The appeal of broadcaster Sir David Attenborough to both the general public and academics is analysed in the light of his latest series, "Life in the Undergrowth", which is due to start on BBC1 on 23 November 2005. Attenborough notes that he would like to think that he has a proper respect for science and facts and that, through his work, he hopes to help "make sense of what is going on around us".

Women are still 15% cheaper

Article Abstract:

There were 584,655 female full-time home students in 2005, vs 450,815 makes, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency, but many argue that universities are not empowering women. At school, girls consistently outperform boys but this changes at degree level as female students are less prepared to take a risk and be original.
