Taming of the jackals
Article Abstract:
Between 1954 and 1962 a bloody war was fought in Algeria between nationalists and French settlers, involving torture, revenge killings and terrorism, and the aftermath is still strongly felt in Algeria. In France, however, the memories are scarcely felt and are politically insignificant. This French reaction compares strangely with the US reaction to the Vietnam war. Even now the US is haunted by what has become known as the Vietnam syndrome yet French children are taught nothing about the Algerian war. In the presidential elections in both countries in 1988 George Bush campaigned to heal the Vietnam scars while in France no mention was made of Algeria in spite of two of the three candidates having fought there.

Hamlet enters Whitewater
Article Abstract:
"Convicted felon" is redundant because a person must first be convicted of a felony to be a felon. The word maven refers to a person whose name describes an intrinsic trait. The literary name Scrooge exemplifies this. Another example, Will Drop was the name of a window cleaner who fell to his death.
