Consumer electronics manufacturers are introducing new products featuring MP3 devices at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2000. Among the products being launched are Refac's RefacDesign MP3 player, Request's AudioReQuest home stereo component, Sony's Vaio Music Clip, Samsung's Yepp series of MP3 players, MaxTech's MP3 portable Moveman SSP-80HCF, Soundbit DA-CD555 and the Soundbit DA-HD10G and Hyun Won's M-ANY (MR100-16/32) hybrid MP3 player.

Home appliance manufacturers have unveiled sophisticated products at the 2000 National Assn of Home Builders Show held in Dallas, TX. A number of them have introduced home networking options to integrate telephony, audio/video and broadband applications. These include IBM's Home Director systems, OnQ Technologies' home wiring systems and Multiplex Technology's Channel Plus systems. Meanwhile, Whirlpool displayed its Web-enabled refrigerator and Maytag unveiled its side-by-side refrigerator.

Manufacturers of home security systems have launched their latest product lines which feature closed coupled device (CCD) video imaging technology. Emerson's latest offering is the EVO60200 compact 2.4GHz wireless color CCD camera/receiver system with a 150-ft to 300-ft range. Stategic Vista Corp has introduced its SG6940 Lorex 2.4GHz wireless surveillance camera and the SG6880 Lorex Video Security System, while Remington has launched its 900MHz Wireless Observation System for home users.
