Camcorder captures 520-line images with Zeiss lens

Article Abstract:

Sony Corp's DCR-PC100 Digital Videocassette camcorder boasts of a Carl Zeiss lens for superior photographic and color reproduction and features a 1.07-million-pixel CCD for recording moving images with 520 lines in horizontal resolution. Compatible with Sony's Memory Stick IC recording system, the camcorder offers 10X optical and 40X digital zooms. Powered by a small, lightweight InfoLithium battery, DCR-PC100 is capable of capturing photographs continuously for up to six hours and 40 minutes.

Sony to highlight handycams in marketing campaign

Article Abstract:

Sony Corp will launch a marketing campaign to promote its Handycam line of digital camcorders. The line includes models DCR-TRV20, which has 1.07 million pixel CCD and the palm-sized DCR-PC5, which incorporates a 20,000- dot, 2.5-inch precision LCD monitor and a 180,000-dot precision color viewfinder. The Handycam series also include the DCR-TRV20, which integrates a 1.07 million CCD, and can produce fine-definition images with 520 horizontal lines.

Pocket-sized DVC camcorders may capture large turf for JVC

Article Abstract:

Victor Company of Japan Ltd's (JVC's) pocket-sized Pocket Movie GR-DVL digital camcorder is among the first camcorders to incorporate super high- band signal processing. The product, which features professional-level abilities, has been available in Japan since Dec 1997 and it will make an entry into other markets in Feb 1998. JVC plans to offer classes regarding camcorders and video printers in a bid to expand its DVC market.
