Cassette Deck Suppliers Singing Second-Half Sales Tune

Article Abstract:

The cassette deck is the hottest product in the audio business and sales are expected to grow steadily during the second half of 1984. There is growing demand for feature packed models with features such as multiple noise reduction, auto reverse and dubbing. Prices for models with auto reverse are falling and there are an increasing number of new products with this feature. Prices are stable and sales during the second half are expected to be up ten percent over 1983. Manufacturers are having some problems with a short supply of integrated circuits.

New Cassette Deck Customers: Some Take Low Road, Some Take..

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers see 1984 as a period of fine tuning for the tape deck industry. Fear that low end tape decks would cut into high end sales have diminished. The dual-deck market may fail to take off. It shouldn't be too difficult to gauge demand with the industry growing between five and ten per cent a year.
