The Big Question: Will Major Broadcasters Make It All Work?

Article Abstract:

Consumer awareness of stereo television will grow rapidly, but sales will only become strong after broadcasters start stereo programming. The FCC authorization of MTS programming became effective May 7, 1984, after the networks had started production of fall programming. ABC, CBS, and NBC plan to have stereo broadcasts of movies, sports, and video music in 1984. SAP receivers should sell well in areas with ethnic populations, if local stations use the extra channel for foreign language broadcast.
