Article Abstract:

Film studios are set to release video versions of their summer blockbusters during the fourth quarter of 2007. The two high-def disc formats (Blu-ray and HD DVD) had limited offerings in 2006, but in 2007 expect several movies to be released such as Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" on Blu-ray. The different movies that will be released on HD DVD and Blu-ray in the fourth quarter are discussed.

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment releases videos exclusively on Blu-ray format, and has launched a national mall tour called the Magical Blu-ray Tour. A study revealed that almost half of HDTV owners do not watch high-definition programming, and the tour's goal is to educate consumers on the technology. A description of the mall tour's programme is given.

Blu-ray exclusive Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment are releasing a line of recent and old blockbusters in the fourth quarter, while Warner Home Video will release hits such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Blu-ray and HD DVD formats. Other video releases for the fourth quarter are also discussed.
