Are you ready for a visit from the DSS?: if you thought the worst was over after last month's visit by the VAT inspector then think again, because now Electrical Contractor deals with the Dss and this time they really are out to get you

Article Abstract:

The DSS needs to collect 131 million pounds sterling in unpaid national insurance (NI), which will involve visits to 130,000 businesses. The majority of visits will be to established businesses who may have made genuine errors without intention to defraud or deceive. Inspectors may want access to payroll records, expense claim forms, cheque stubs, petty cash, cashbooks and company credit card statements. They will want information on any untaxed payments made to individuals such as consultants or sub-contractors.
