Back to the woods

Article Abstract:

Woods, manufacturer of wooden electrical accessories, was established specifically to supply electrical fittings that fit in with the decor of traditional properties. The company's 10 employees are now based in a new factory in Cullompton, UK, Roger Mudditt having started the company in a semi-derelict smallholding with three YTS trainees in 1985. Woods' products, which include rotary dimmers, dolly switches and socket outlets, have been used in stately homes, company boardrooms and a luxury yacht. The accessories are all of standard size and comply with current IEE regulations.

Dry philosophy with matching accessories

Article Abstract:

The use of electrical cable constructed of polymeric composites has created a demand for matching accessories. The benefits of the terminations employing polymeric composite designs are simplicity and lighter configurations, and the deletion of compound filing when using box terminations. Pre-molded rubber designs are not useful for shaped conductors or paper-insulated cable, but heat shrinking eliminates that problem.
