Energy bill becomes law

Article Abstract:

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 increases the renewable fuel standard to 7.5 billion gallons by 2012 from 5.4 billion gallons in 2008 as stated in the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The new law also tightens the corporate average fuel economy to 35 mpg for passenger cars and light trucks that will be introduced by 2020. The law also boosts energy research and development.

Washington approves clean energy initiative

California hopes to lead GHG initiative
