Hybrid system improves particle removal

Article Abstract:

WL Gore and Associates Inc of Elkton, MD, has unveiled its Advanced Hybrid Particulate Collector (AHPC) at the Air and Waste Management Assn's 2000 Conference, held in Salt lake City, UT. Product development engineer Richard Gebert revealed that AHPC uses a new concept in particle control that combines electrostatic precipitation with fabirc filtration. In tests conducted as of Sep 2000, AHPC has demonstrated collection efficiencies greater than 99.9% for particulate matter between 0.01 and 50 micron and can operate at filter bag air-to-cloth ratios up to 12 cfm/square foot.

Process reduces mercury emissions

Article Abstract:

Environmental Elements Corp, based in Baltimore, MD, developed a variant of its Circulating Dry Scrubber technology to further reduce mercury emissions. The enhanced ECC can also lower emissions in fine particle as well as acid gases from coal-fired power plants. A pilot test of the technology was held at the Public Service Electric and Gas Mercer Generating Station in Trenton, NJ.

Bag dumper/screener captures particles before they escape

Article Abstract:

Sweco Inc introduces the Sweco Bag Dumper and Screener. The system is capable of trapping dust and debris from bags while chanelling materials into industrial separators. It was especially designed to be used in conjunction with Sweco's Low Profile Flow-Thru separator as the use of both of equipment will allow high capacity dry scalping in a compact, low- headroom design.
