ISO 9000 quality audit and the year 2000

Article Abstract:

ISO 9000 auditors are keen to make companies aware that software and products containing software that no longer operate correctly following the year 2000 computer date change will no longer meet ISO 9000 requirements. Companies must be able to provide evidence that they are addressing the year 2000 computer date change problem. If they are unable to do so, then they are likely to be assessed as failing to conform with ISO 9001. Even a small problem with a software program could lead to a company seeing a nonconformity raised against clause 4.2.3.
