Measuring people and performance: closing the gaps

Article Abstract:

There is a clear need for improvements in the way in which companies measure human performance, according to research based on a survey of a cross section of American Society for Quality-member quality professionals. There is strong evidence of the impact of employee commitment and satisfaction on customer satisfaction and financial performance, but few companies use people measures to forecast these key business outcomes. Companies must be aware that effective people management needs a strong measurement basis.
