New Developments in Agricultural Simulation

Article Abstract:

A Workshop on Crop Simulation was hosted by the University of Illinois in March, 1983. Various types of presentations were included - model building methodology, computer implementation, field applications, ecological processes, crop types and reproductions. Other issues discussed involved which computers are best to deliver information to farmers, the necessity for a simpler model for naive users, and the advantages of bringing together professionals from all the subareas of agricultural simulation.

Names of Published Computer Models in the Environmental Biological Sciences: A Partial List and New Potential Risks

Article Abstract:

The increased availability of personal computers has led to a similar increased availability of computer software. Many of the software packages deal with the natural sciences and the environment. A listing is presented of available software which models or otherwise investigates the behavior of natural resource systems.
