The new polymer grades is launched by the engineering polymer supplier DuPont to meet the varying levels of manufacturing controls required for healthcare components or products. It covers non-implantable medical devices, drug delivery systems, analytical and diagnostic equipment components such as valves, pumps or housings, surgical instruments and material handling components for pharmaceutical production, as well includes chain management medical expertise.

Smart design wins bonding challenge

Article Abstract:

A student design competition, won by a team of four mechanical engineers studying for a masters degree an Coventry University, demonstrated the value of good teamwork, design for manufacture and how to use finite element analysis to design a more effective, stronger aluminium beam, bonded by adhesives. Huntsman Advanced Materials set the challenge, and it was to build a bonded beam with the aim of achieving the highest load at yield under test.
