Raising the roof on energy savings

Article Abstract:

Curzon Design Ltd., a real estate and giftware sales company headquartered in Long Island, NY, uses a direct digital control energy-management system for its air-conditioning requirements in the three-story, 54,000-sq-ft facility. The new system that offers flexibility, adaptability and expansion capacity minimizes the chance of callbacks on system configuration issues with its reduced number of field-wiring configurations. The device is equipped with six high-efficiency, 15-ton rooftop units and two 20-ton rooftop units with factory-manufactured controls.

It's all in the packaging

Article Abstract:

Quick delivery, lower initial costs, flexibility, redundancy, ease of installation and maintenance are some of the advantages afforded by packaged heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. For instance, packaged gas-fired and electric boilers are lightweight enough to be hung on the wall to handle the smallest loads. On the other hand, packaged heat pumps are a cost-effective solution for cooling, heating and ventilation applications. A heat-pump used with a package boiler and fluid cooler may be the cheapest options for such tasks.
