The intelligent breakers

Article Abstract:

Intelligent circuit breakers can be fully integrated with power supply and plant control systems, allowing efficient monitoring of equipment from a remote location. This enables routine maintenance checks to be completed by fewer staff and preventative maintenance to be planned so as to minimise disruption to the plant. An intelligent circuit breaker, controlled from a central point , can be switched to protect one of several circuits as required and its parameters can be altered for different loads. Although initially expensive, these products allow savings on maintenance and downtime.
