Use an enterprise view to select SPC software

Article Abstract:

The introduction of statistical-process control (SPC) systems has been regarded as a breakthrough in managing production processes. However, developments in SPC software has also made the process of choosing a suitable system difficult for managers. Representatives of different departments including the QA manager, production operator, and information systems must decide the matter while considering costs and particular production requirements.

Total quality improved with resistance weld motors

Article Abstract:

Manufacturing industries which make use of resistance welding utilize resistance-weld monitors as an alternative to destructive testing to ascertain weld quality. The process, though not as accurate as destructive tests, can pinpoint potential problem areas which can be corrected. Existing resistance-weld monitors can provide readings on actual and derived parameters such as current, voltage, impedance, and resistance.
