Causes and consequences of a tropical forest gold rush in the Guiana Shield, South America

Article Abstract:

Various statistical analyses are conducted to explain the cause and the impact of the growth of gold population on the spatial distribution across the Guiana Shield in South America. The need of an integrated international monetary policy to give proper due to such poor miners in such areas is discussed.

Illicit crops and armed conflict as constraints on biodiversity conservation in the Andes region

Article Abstract:

A regional perspective is adopted to identify where the growing of illicit crops would constrain the efforts to prevent species extinction. Solutions to the problem address the root causes-international drug markets, long-lasting armed conflict, and lack of alternative income for the rural poor.

An evaluation pattern for antimacrofouling procedures: Limnoperna fortunei larvae study in a hydroelectric power plant in South America

A study to describe the temporal biology of Limnoperna fortunei larvae in a hydroelectric power plant in South American is presented. The data will help to form a sound choice of antifouling treatment that is efficient from economic and environmental perspectives.
