Cold war

Article Abstract:

The oil company British Petroleum (BP) has been campaigning for the launching of the first offshore oil development in Alaska called Northstar Project. The Green peace movement, along with other environmental organizations, have been lobbying against the project because they believe that oil exploration in Alaska may worsen the world's problem in global warming. Furthermore, their analysis of BP's Draft Environmental Impact Statement revealed that the company has insufficient safety and clean-up protocols.

Ground zero

Article Abstract:

Greenpeace feels that the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) is the key to limiting and finally eliminating nuclear arsenals worldwide. A nuclear weapon test ban is a step towards nuclear disarmament by the nuclear nations and prevents countries like India, Israel and Pakistan from becoming new nuclear powers. Greenpeace is critical of US efforts to conduct subcritical experiments at the Nevada Test Site, when negotiations for the CTBT are in progress.
